Navratri — meaning “nine nights” — is one of the most colourful, energetic and joyous festivals celebrated across Gujarat, including in cities like Nadiad. During this nine-day Hindu festival, people gather every evening to dance Garba and Dandiya Raas, honouring the feminine divine energy of Goddess Durga (Shakti) with music, dance, lights and colour.

- A traditional Gujarati folk dance performed in concentric circles, usually around a lamp, an image of the goddess, or a decorated stage.
- Dancers move rhythmically in colourful attire — especially chaniya cholis (for women) and embroidered kurtas (for men).
🎶 Dandiya Raas
- A lively companion dance to Garba where participants use two decorated wooden sticks (‘dandiyas’) and strike them in sync with others.
